On Saturday morning,
January 29, 2005, the Ursuline Sisters of Youngstown gathered in the
chapel at the Ursuline Motherhouse in Canfield, Ohio.
The chapel was filled with small lanterns which were part of the
missioning prayer service.
Sister Regina Rogers, the general superior of the Ursuline Sisters of
Youngstown, called each sister to "be a beacon of light to all who know
you, and to inspire others to
service.
In fulfilling the mission God has called you as consecrated
Ursuline Sisters, I challenge you to recognize your ministry as privilege,
acting responsiblitity and respectful of those you serve. I
encourage you to work for conversion, in yourselves and others, reflecting
the Light of Christ that is within you.
I ask you to be contemplative women, offering your services freely,
confidently, joyfully, and generously as a Disciple of Jesus and Daughter
of Angela.

As you now come forward to be blessed for mission and receive this
symbol of Light to carry the Light of Christ into the world, I ask you
to pray for and bless one another in Angela's name." Each sister
was given a small lantern to serve as a reminder of our prayer together
and a Saint Angela Merici prayer card.
