The Ursuline Sisters of Youngstown are often asked questions about our lives. Since many people are seeking the same information, we videotape short responses to best explain what life is like when you become a nun.

If you think you might want to be a nun, also be sure to watch the short video by Sister Mary McCormick located right side of this page, then contact us.

  1. Well, Karen, in addition to personal prayer, get to know some Sisters in your area. Volunteer with them. Talk with them about their life and their ministries. Blessings on your journey.

  2. I am considering becoming a nun, what should I do?

  3. I am a happy healthy teenager. Making a decision about my life is a long way off. I long to get married and have children. I have always dreamed of being a wife and a mother and the thought gives me peace and makes me feel excited. However I have this anxiety that I may be called to religious life even though that is not what I want. I always want to follow God but that life doesn’t attract me. It makes me feel anxious and upset to think that I may not be happy or fulfilled. Is it possible that I can be called to a vocation I’m not interested in? or am I just being nervous?

  4. I don’t know if you can help. While in Conneaut, Ohio at the park we ran into Sister Bridget Nolan. I have lost her address and number that she had given me. What a wonderful person. I have a card of thanks to send to her. The phone number was from Canfield, and she had mentioned Harborview.
If you could be of assistance, I thank you. She left a lasting impression.
    Thank you, Jodi Casillo

  6. Hello, my name is Megan and for Theology class we are making a project for our Final. My group is acting out all the seven Sacraments and I would like to know some information on the Sacrament of Holy Orders. I mainly need to know the main part of the Sacrament; for example what each person says and the actions that are done. If you could please help me gain this information that would be extremely helpful. Thank you.
